2020 Director-Elect Nominations

The American Board of Dental Public Health (ABDPH) is requesting Diplomates interested in serving on the ABDPH board to submit an application for the 2020 position of Director-Elect.

Applications will stay active for a total of three years. An applicant can withdraw his/her name from the selection process before the end of three years. In order to do so, he/she must notify the Executive-Director, ABDPH no later than January 1, of the year he/she does not want to be considered. A committee consisting of two current directors of the ABDPH, and two full member Diplomates appointed by AAPHD, will serve as the nominating committee. The committee will review all candidates and will determine a slate of two (2) or more Diplomates for the Director-Elect position. All active Diplomates, in good standing will be eligible to vote electronically from the slate of candidates.

The Board strives to reflect the scope of dental public health.  A balance of talents and competencies across the main areas of dental public health—administration, service delivery, health promotion, and research—are desired. The committee will therefore use the following when considering the slate of candidates for Director-Elect:

  1. Employment history (e.g., Federal, state, or local health agency; government; academia; private sector)

  2. Type(s) of job responsibilities (e.g., administration, teaching, consulting, research, patient care)

  3. Educational background (e.g., institutions from which the candidate earned his or her dental and public health training and where the candidate completed his or her residency program)

  4. Demographic information (e.g., gender, race/ethnicity, current geographic location).

Director-Elect Nominee Form

Email a copy of the Director-Elect Nominee Form and CV to Dr. Ana Karina Mascarenhas, Executive Director, ABDPH, [email protected] no later than December 15th, 2019.
